City of Newark park picnic areas are first-come, first-serve. No reservations are accepted.

Newark’s 15 parks and sport play facilities, conveniently located throughout the various neighborhoods, offer plenty of opportunities for residents to get active, stay healthy and enjoy quality time with family and friends.  The following map shows park and playfield features and locations:

New Park Projects

As the City of Newark continues to grow, central to our development is our dedication to enhance the overall quality of life here and to create an environment where people love where they live.  Our priority is to create and improve park and recreation facilities for all current and future residents of Newark. To that end, the City has several new park projects in the works:

Citywide Parks Master Plan

The Citywide Parks Master Plan establishes goals, long-term policies and standards to guide the development and management of park and recreation facilities.
