Business Licenses

Anyone conducting business in the City of Newark is required to possess a current Newark business license. Business License application and Business License Application Fee Schedule may be obtained at the License/Cashier Counter, First Floor, City Administration Building, 37101 Newark Blvd., Newark. Annual renewal notices for existing licensed businesses are mailed each December for the coming new year or dowloaded via the website.

Business license fees are dependent upon the type and volume of business conducted in the City of Newark. Fees are subject to penalties if they are delinquent - - generally if fees are paid after January, a 20% penalty is assessed; after February, 40%; and after March, 50%.

Home Occupation Permit Application

The City of Newark requires Home Occupation Permits from businesses that operate from homes. The permits are approved and monitored by the Code Enforcement Division within the Police Department.
