On June 28, 2008 at about 4:36 AM Newark Police Department (NPD) Officers responded to the 6300 block of Broadway Ave. on a report of gun shots heard in the area. NPD Officers received additional information that at about the same time a male was seen limping as he left from a residence on Broadway Ave. As NPD Officers conducted a welfare check at the residence, they learned Fremont Police Department Officers were responding to a report of a gun shot victim arriving at an area hospital. Further investigation revealed the shooting in question had occurred at the residence on Broadway Ave. After the scene was stabilized, NPD Detectives assumed the investigation. The Victim was moved to an area trauma hospital where he is being treated for his gun shot wounds. The matter is still under investigation by NPD Detectives.
