Volunteers

Volunteers are a vital part of our City staff team. Whether at our Senior Center, Fire Department, or other City facilities, volunteers assist City employees with a variety of challenging and important tasks. The City of Newark accepts volunteer applications on an ongoing basis. Volunteer openings are available for review at the Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue, and the City of Newark Personnel Department, 37101 Newark Boulevard. The Newark Police Department is looking for a few good men and women to work at our Department in a volunteer capacity. We need volunteers in many facets of our Department to assist with various assignments and duties. For more information please contact the Crime Prevention Unit at (510) 790-7233.

The purpose of the Senior Property Maintenace Program is to facilitate contact between enrolled seniors and enrolled volunteers who will assist the senior with the maintenance of his or her property.
