To report a street light issue, please send an email to public.works@newark.org, call (510) 578-4589 or leave a message on the Street Light Hotline at (510) 578-4263.  In addition to your name and phone number, please provide the pole number (a 3-digit or 4-digit number found on the lower portion of the pole) or the street address nearest the pole.  Please also describe the nature of the problem that you have observed such as complete outage, dim or flickering light, light on during daylight hours, etc.  Repairs are reported to our contractor weekly, usually on Mondays.  If you experience a street light problem for more than two weeks, please contact us again.  Sometimes the troubleshooting process of repairing a street light will take one or two call backs.  However, most lights are repaired within twelve days.
