National Night Out - 2016
National Night Out 2016
- Tuesday, August 2, 2016
- 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
National Night Out is being held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, an annual nationwide event designed to strengthen relationships in your neighborhoods, raise crime prevention awareness, and continue relationships with public safety; Police, Fire, CERT, RAVEN Volunteers, and Ham Radio Operators. 2015 was a wonderful success for all involved participants and included a free shred event for all Newark citizens.
All Newark citizens, neighborhoods, apartment complexes, townhomes, business, and shopping centers are invited and encouraged to participate. Hosting an event or block party is a simple way for people to meet, have fun, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety and quality of their neighborhood. Begin your planning early and become involved in your neighborhood.
Block Party Permit
Street Closures/Block Party
Residential neighborhoods and nonprofit organizations occasionally request permission to close a street or street segment for a special event. An encroachment permit can be issued for this purpose on a cul-de-sac and on other local residential streets, but there are limitations. Additional information regarding Street Closures/Block Parties can be located on the City of Newark website at permits.
If additional information is needed contact Michael Carmen at (510) 547-4320. Deadline for permit filing is July 21, 2016.
