Planning Commission
The Planning Commission reviews and takes action on certain planning applications and makes recommendations to the City Council on land use issues. The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd and 4thTuesdays of each month. Planning Commission meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. in the City Administration Building, 37101 Newark Boulevard, 6th Floor, Newark.

Senior Advisory Committee
The Senior Citizen Standing Advisory Committee researches senior issues within the City of Newark and identifies those needs which require assistance. The Committee makes recommendations to the City Council and provides information which they feel is pertinent to the well being of Newark’s senior citizens. The Committee meets at 9:15 a.m. on the last Monday of most months at the Newark Senior Center located at 7401 Enterprise Drive in Newark.

City of Newark/Newark Unified School District Joint Task Force on Youth Issues
The Task Force meets on a bi-monthly basis to discuss youth related issues, to plan youth programs, and to make recommendations on joint youth programs. The Task Force typically meets at the Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue.

Oversight Board of the Successor Agency of the Newark Redevelopment Agency
The Oversight Board has been created to oversee the actions of the Successor Agency to the Newark Redevelopment Agency. The Oversight Board meets on an as needed basis at the Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue.

Disaster Council
The Disaster Council meets a few times a year at the Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue. The Disaster Council meets to discuss disaster prepared and coordination of emergency functions within the City.

Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC)
The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) is an appointed committee that provides recommendations to the City Council for the use of Community Development Block Grant funds and to the Community Development Director on priorities for the use of Housing funds. The CDAC usually meets in January at City Hall.
